Avril began practicing law in 2004 and now has 13 years of experience, representing healthcare professionals in complex medical liability claims and general claims through all stages of litigation. She also assists healthcare providers in their respective board matters and in peer review and fair hearings. While her primary focus is medical malpractice defense, she also handles a wide variety of litigation matters, including premises liability, fraud claims and contract disputes. She also practices in healthcare litigation, professional ethics, and general litigation.
During law school, Avril clerked at a boutique law firm that specializes in healthcare liability defense. After graduating, she joined the firm and remained there for several years until she decided to expand her practice area into Admiralty. She did that for several years and enjoyed it but relocated to London for her husband’s job for three years. When she returned to Houston, she realized healthcare is her passion and returned to that area of law at another boutique firm before joining Serpe Andrews.
Avril is married with one daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, their dog, and participating in all the different activities Houston has to offer. She also enjoys volunteering through local organizations. She started a book club in 2004, is a season member of the Hobby Center for Performing Arts and served as Troop Leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop for years.
